PSY ANTS - Bit Tongue Prik 12"

Based in Brisbane and originally called Science, Psy Ants began as a two piece in late 2009 with Mitchel Perkins on bass/vocals and Aiden Hilcher on drums. They became a three piece when Sebastian Hew (The Seizures) joined. He played guitar in the band for most of 2010, leaving by the years end. In early 2011, Glen Schenau stepped in on six strings. They have now called it a day, moving on with various established acts such as Per Purpose, Knee Chin, Cured Pink, et al.

$20.00 AUD + postage
Order here: vacantvalley@gmail.com

Limited to 300 copies on vinyl, each with a supplementary CD-R version.
Akin to the discordant guitar rock of the late 80's/90's from both Australia (King Snake Roost) and USA (Cows, Rapeman).
Something like a riveting chug.
A genuine tour de force.
Recorded by Andrew McLellan at Alchemix Studios.

IGOR - Demo CD

IGOR - a minimal post rock duo from Auckland,
who have been playing together for just over a year.
They had a bunch of 'demo' cdr's available on their east coast Australian tour in July.
Band name and track titles written with black texta on each of the 50 odd made.
(no case with the cd - just pick one from the cd spindle...)
These recordings bring to mind the short lived Matrimony from Sydney,
with shades of quasi black metal - not the fast, thundering type;
more like the dirgy repetition of early Absurd, perhaps.

                                                             1) Happy as a lamb
                                                             2) Catherine
                                                             3) Tantrum
                                                             4) Whores
                                                             5) Kidneys
                                                             6) Didn't mean

POP SINGLES - All Gone LP 12"/CD

STOCK UPDATE: 26.11.12

12" version [300 copies]: Vacant Valley is sold out!
AUST: check local independent record stores for a copy.
* Clarity Records (Adel) and Red Eye Records (Syd) recently restocked.
INT: copies available via X-Mist Records (Germany).

CD version [160 copies]: still available - recently restocked in Polyester Records (Melb), check Collectors Corner Missing Link (Melb) or contact Vacant Valley [$10 + postage]

Cassette version [limited edition] released by Night People (Iowa) still available,
either through NP website or VV.

POP SINGLES draw similarities with the melodic post punk of the 1980’s (The Triffids, late era Hüsker Dü, Sad Lovers & Giants), as well as inspiration from local pop luminaries Popolice and Dane Certificate. The production of ALL GONE is assured and composed, encompassing the polished sound of the groups earlier EP and 7" with the jangly, raw feel of their cassette releases and live shows. A record revealing inner tension, hope and hopelessness: Pop Singles have made a relatable and affecting debut.
Recorded by Jack Farley at Transient Studios.

THE BUNYIP MOON - World LP

The Bunyip Moon have a bruising new album NOW AVAILABLE.

                                          Tracklisting:
                                         1) Kill everything
                                         2) Gravity sucks

                                         6) The flies buzzed in a great silence
                                         7) Stargazer

World is a dense and stormy trip.
Serrated drums, hacking guitars, obscured vocals - it's all rather solemn.
A compelling album, right through to the somewhat redemptive closing track.
